MARES & HOMBRED FILLIES
We run a closed herd of mares so the majority of our females are now homebred.
Kept for their good temperaments and an intelligent, hardy disposition, traits we hope they pass onto their offspring to maintain a good Shetland type.
We don’t breed every year so mares get to have a break from breeding and we don’t wean early so foals create a strong bond with their dams and older siblings and it’s nice to see family groups.
