THE ARTIST

New to the website is a page dedicated to Art. Not a side line to the ponies or farm, alas, I am not that talented!!
The artist (my mum) started painting around 9 years ago when sudden illness of her partner led to early retirement and a big life style change. Having not picked up a paint brush for some forty odd years since attending Art College, painting has now become a therapeutic hobby, a celebration of the country side and beautiful scenery around us.
To cut out commission fees, pieces are currently viewed and purchased mainly from her pop-up gallery at home, only open on sunny days and Bank Holiday’s. She has also exhibited at the Nunnington Hall Art Exhibition. With paintings sold to locals and holiday makers from most counties and as far as Canada, I thought it would be nice to show case a few on this page and what better day to launch than Mother’s day.
Every painting is an original in oil, mixed media or the occasional pastel. Details on size/price can be found when clicking on the image.
