About Us<\/h4>\n

Not just a stud….. We got into the Shetland pony breed as I have always had a love and fascination with all small breeds of equine.<\/p>\n

With Shetland ponies being the UK native small breed, it seemed the right choice for me.<\/p>\n

Shetlands are such big characters for their diminutive size, what’s not to love. They have given us much pleasure, many laughs and a few challenges over the years and I couldn’t imagine not having them.<\/p>\n

My children have enjoyed growing up with them and handling the foals, I enjoy photography and the outdoors and have spent hours in their company with 100’s of photos as happy memories and they have also played an important role on the land being part of our conservation grazing since 2011.<\/p>\n

More recently, our focus has changed from the breeding side and more to maintaining the herd size as is now and just enjoying them.<\/p>\n

The year is certainly running away again, into May already!! Foaling is in full swing for many studs around the country and I have enjoyed seeing everyone’s new arrivals.<\/p>\n

We didn’t run any stallions last year after having a horrible year with such a dry time, no water and two cases of EGS, something we haven’t ever come across. It has been one of our greatest challenges as horse owners and I’m sure our troubles aren’t over yet.<\/p>\n

On a positive note, last years foals, who were born in summer, will soon be yearlings and are starting to take shape. It’s nice to see what they will become as adults and overall I am pleased with them.<\/p>\n
